The Jaycees will be making their annual pilgrimage to Oaklawn Park on March 27. The plan is to meet up at 11:00 am at Oaklawn’s Main Gate. The races start at 1:00 pm and dinner will be at Back Porch Grill at 8:00 pm.

If you are staying overnight, we’ll be staying at the Days Inn Hot Springs. The room rate is $67 per night. Give them a call at 501-525-5666 to reserve your room.

This is a “No Business” weekend. It’s a great opportunity to get together with fellow Jaycees from across the state and a great event to bring prospective members to.

The Board of Directors will meet on December 5th at 10:00 am in Little Rock for its final meeting of 2009. A Local Officer Training School (LOTS) will also be held in conjunction with this meeting for incoming 2010 officers.

At this Board Meeting, amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws will be considered, including a proposed increase in the amount of dues payed by chapters to the Arkansas Jaycees per member. A detailed list of proposed changes is attached to this post. Please take time to familiarize yourself and your chapter with this information.

Mission Week is an excellent opportunity to both promote your chapter and the ideals of the organization. Each day of the week is themed around one of the stanzas of the Jaycee Creed.

The 2009 Annual Meeting of the Arkansas Junior Chamber will be on August 21-23, 2009 at the Holiday Inn in Jonesboro. The election of the 2010 Executive Committee will take place at this meeting and amendments to the Constitution and Bylaws will be offered.

Early bird registration is open through August 7 and is $60.00. After the Seventh, registration will be $65.00. Registration is available online and you can either pay by credit card/PayPal, mail a check, or pay at the door. Please register online here.
