The 2010 Parade of Chapters is a tool to allow local chapters to gain recognition for their achievements and actions through the year.  At the Year-End meeting in early 2011 we will announced the Parade winners.

Arkansas Jaycees Year-End Awards Announced

The Magnolia Jaycees hosted the Arkansas Jaycees Year-End Celebration this past weekend in Magnolia, Arkansas. At that meeting, we had some wonderful training from 2009 National Vice President Joanie Cramer and the 2009 Executive Committee was installed.

2009 Executive Committee Elected

The 2009 Arkansas Jaycees Executive Committee was elected at the Arkansas Jaycees Annual Meeting on November 22 in Conway.

Chad Peterson of Conway was elected 72nd President of the Arkansas Jaycees. Toby Stephens of Magnolia was elected as Individual Development Vice President. Shonna Laws of Jonesboro was elected to serve as Business Development Vice President. Jeff Taylor of Jonesboro was elected to serve as the 2009 Membership Development Vice President. All officers’ terms will begin on January 1st, 2009.

Mid-Year Awards were also announced at the Annual Meeting:

Book Judging on November 15

A Chairman’s Planning Guide book judging will be held on November 15th at 2pm in Jonesboro at the Jonesboro Jaycees Meeting Room at the Northeast Arkansas District Fairgrounds. Projects with a final report approved by their Chapter’s Board of Directors prior to June 30, 2008 will be eligible for judging. Awards will be handed out at the Annual Meeting in Conway on November 22.

News from US Jaycees Year-End Celebration

The US Jaycees Year-End Celebration held in Memphis, Tennessee last week.  Rankings for 2007 included:

  • The Arkansas Jaycees placed Second in the US Jaycees Parade of States
  • The Paragould Jaycees placed Third in the US Jaycees Parade of Chapters
  • Amber Gill of Paragould has been named an Outstanding Local Vice President
  • John Baine was presented Dennis Hamilton Memorial Award, presented to up to ten Outstanding State Vice Presidents who are responsible for statewide programming.
  • Bradley Phillips of Conway was awarded a Presidential Award of Merit.
