The Magnolia Jaycees hosted the Arkansas Jaycees Year-End Celebration this past weekend in Magnolia, Arkansas. At that meeting, we had some wonderful training from 2009 National Vice President Joanie Cramer and the 2009 Executive Committee was installed.
First Half, Second Half, and Year-End Awards were also presented at this meeting. Click through for a list of the winners.
Tuesday, February 17th will be Arkansas Jaycee Day at the Capitol. The day will start at 10:00 a.m with a tour of the capitol, followed by lunch, then a picture with Govenor Beebe at 12:45, followed by proclamations in both the House and Senate. Every Jaycee in the state is invited and people will need to RSVP by February 9th so we know how many people we will have for lunch.

9:00am: meet for breakfast in Lower Level of Capitol at Capitol Cafeteria
10:00am: Tour of Capitol
11:00am: Lunch at Doe’s Eat Place
12:45pm: Pictures with Governor Beebe in Governor’s Conference Room
1:30pm-3:00pm: Watch House and Senate Convene from Gallery
The Paragould Jaycees send along the following news:
The Paragould Jaycees recently went visiting and caroling with the elderly at the local mini rise Sat Dec 21. We made cookies, snacks, muffins, etc for those we visited. We also purchased food baskets for 6 meals on wheels participants. These food baskets from the Jaycees were given in addition to other items for 6 participants that were adopted by employees of Sr B’s. We also adopted 5 kids from DHS for Christmas and our kids were given a great Christmas due to the generosity of our members.
Jaycees do a lot throughout the year in their various chapters, but one of the most rewarding is lending a helping hand.
The Arkansas Jaycees Year-End Celebration will be held on February 6-8, 2009 in Magnolia. Registration will be $50 per person.
Rooms are blocked under the Arkansas Jaycees name. And can be reserved starting January 1st. We will be staying in the Quality Inn at 411 E. Main Street in Magnolia. The room rate is $68 + applicable taxes and fees.
The Year-End Celebration allows us to celebrate the previous year and usher in the new. Year-End Awards will be presented and the 2009 Executive Committee will be sworn in.

The 2009 Arkansas Jaycees Executive Committee was elected at the Arkansas Jaycees Annual Meeting on November 22 in Conway.
Chad Peterson of Conway was elected 72nd President of the Arkansas Jaycees. Toby Stephens of Magnolia was elected as Individual Development Vice President. Shonna Laws of Jonesboro was elected to serve as Business Development Vice President. Jeff Taylor of Jonesboro was elected to serve as the 2009 Membership Development Vice President. All officers’ terms will begin on January 1st, 2009.
