JCI Training
The Arkansas Jaycees is developing our training programs to offer a more meaningful membership experience. Please review the information below and send any questions to training@arjaycees.org. Training is the responsibility of the State Individual Development Vice-President and of JCI trainers based in Arkansas.
How you can help even if you don’t want to go through training yourself
Some members may not feel that training is right for them and we are not trying to convince individual members to change their opinion. We do ask that chapter officers do keep an open mind and offer training to their members as part of the Jaycee membership.
Our pool of trainers enjoy getting out and training across the state and they need your help. Members that want to advance their training potential need opportunities to train and get experience that comes from training in front of more than their home chapter.
Some Background
Since its start in 1990, the JCI Training area has seen major changes and is now operating more and more like a professional training organization aimed to the development of new trainers who in turn will help JCI officers to efficiently fulfill their duties and ensure the members have the skills and knowledge to act responsibly in local activities.
Since the establishment of the online tools in 2006 to its complete online and paperless certification system finished in 2007, JCI Training is also moving towards a more efficient operational system and professional standards for training within the organization aimed to provide standardization in the quality of the training courses delivered.
The Certified JCI Head Trainer program is aimed to continuously develop new and young trainers by coaching and providing opportunities to train with more experienced trainers at JCI Official courses.
The online tools for JCI Official courses organization and registration will keep records of all training activities not only of trainers, but also of all members who participate in JCI Official courses.
The Objective
The purpose of JCI Training shall be to research, design, certify trainers, endorse and conduct training and development courses aligned with the JCI Mission and Vision and the annual JCI Plan of Action and current strategic plan.
Certification Levels
To guide trainers along the path of excellence, JCI has established a Certification Program – a road map to achievement in the field of training. The program provides incentives and opportunities for members to improve their technical skills through specialized training, career development programs, and active participation in training efforts in the field.
JCI members are encouraged to seek advanced certification after successfully completing the JCI Trainer course (or JCI Prime before 2008). But the commitment to achievement does not end with the first course. There are four levels of training achievements that can be reached by every member in JCI.

Goal to Add Assistant Trainers to Arkansas Now

To become a Certified JCI Assistant Trainer and be able to conduct JCI official courses, trainers must meet be a CLT or higher certification may become a Certified JCI Assistant Trainer for any course from which he or she has graduated.
